Stray Dog BBQ is located at the junction of Missouri State Highways 60 and 103 just across the river from Van Buren, Missouri. Van Buren is one of the states best trip destinations. Located beside the beautiful clear clean spring fed Current River and only 3 miles from the worlds largest single spring, Big Spring.
This area truly is "Big" spring country. Along with the world class Big Spring, three more major springs are located within 50 miles. Round Spring, Alley Springs, and Blue Spring. All 4 springs are part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, of the National Park system.
Many other beautiful sights await you, like Skyline Drive, Rocky Falls, Coward's Hollow Falls, Big Barren Natural Area , the Ozark Trail and many, many more.

Thousands of people come to the area each year to float the clear waters, camp in the many campgrounds, hike the numerous trails and visit the natural areas.

Van Buren is located in western Carter County. Most of the west half of the county is owned by the National Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the Missouri Department of Conservation(Peck Ranch). These three government agencies own and manage thousands of acres of wild land for everyones use and enjoyment.

From the North- St. Louis

Only 2 1\2 hours from St. Louis traveling down Interstate 55 to Hwy 67 South to Hwy 34 to Hwt 21 to Hwy 60.
Altenate Scenic Route- Hwy 21 south to Hwy 60. Turn right and go 9 miles.
Or Hwy 63 south to Hwy 72 to Hwy 19 to Hwy 60, turn left and to 21 miles.
Scenic and a great drive or ride. Perfect for day trips.

From the West- Springfield

Only 2 1\4 hours east of Springfield on Hwy 60.

From the East- Cape Girardeau

Only 2 hours west of Cape Girardeau traveling south on Interstate 55 to
Hwy 60 west to Van Buren

From the South
Take any north bound road until you run into Missouri Hwy 60. IF you are east of Current River, turn left and come on over.
If you are west of Current River, turn right and ride until you get here.
